47 Years to Eternity
Three years ago, I started writing a book with the above text as the title. It was just 6 months after my salvation and I felt compelled to put pen to paper and tell my story with a hope that it might reach out to others. But the Lord had something else in mind. One day as I was driving, the idea for Amazing Grace Radio came to me in such a crystal clear way, it had to be from Him. Even the name and logo came to me, all at once. I tried to put it on the back burner many times, but it was always pushed to the front. I even thought about doing just an hour, syndicated weekly show, but that didn't work either. I knew all along that it was to be an internet radio station. So here we are. I've involved many of my friends to assist in running the station. We are along for the ride with Jesus at the wheel. (Imagine the Carrie Underwood song playing in the background) The last 2 1/2 years have been a time of transformation. In many ways, I can relate to the Apostle Paul, in that we were both horrible sinners but when the scales finally fell from our eyes, we saw a world unseen until that moment. Here are just a few of the things I have learned over the last couple of years: *That if you let Him in, Jesus Christ will indeed change your heart, break your addictions, clear your mind, straighten your path, and forgive all your sins. *That letting go control of your life is scary, but unless you do, you will never clearly see the glory of the Lord in your life. Lessons Learned From the Father *That prayer can do mighty things and we must pray daily. *That it is marvelous to see the Lord move in your life. And yes, when you submit totally to Him, it will happen and happen often, ususally just when you need it the most. *That the Lord will bring people into your life for a purpose and it will often be people you've known for years but never on a spiritual level. Suddenly someone who was a casual aquaintance is now a brother or sister in the body of Christ. *That after you're washed with the Holy Spirit, your heart will be filled with compassion for the hurting, the broken, and those less fortunate. *That the Devil will never stop trying to reclaim another one that got away. That's why it's so important to read the Bible everyday, to seek the Word of God. It's the best weapon to battle the temptation that will surely come your way. *That we must love the Lord above all others things, including our family. He's alway's number one on the Top 10. *That it seems the people who have the money and resources to help the most in this broken world, often do the least. *That there is beauty in simplicity. *That we all have a sinful nature that will spin out of control unless we have Jesus Christ in our life. *That we must not judge others and we should pray for our enemies. *That I know what he meant when Paul said in 1 Corinthians 7, "That it is good for a man not to marry." *That with Jesus in your life, there is nothing to fear, including death. *That we are entering the last days before the Lord returns. *That we are all Blessed and highly favored.
